Our Mission

To facilitate access to education and implement safer after school programmes for children in need.

To educate at-risk individuals to make informed decisions within their local communities.

To prevent impoverished individuals from migrating, living or roaming the streets.

To create opportunities and programmes for underprivileged individuals to improve their social skills.

By donating to the Ubuntu Circle of Courage you’ll be allowing our NGO to run positive, alternative programmes for underpriviledged communities that prevent at-risk individuals from living on the streets.

We are constantly looking for sponsorship and appreciate any funding that allows us to continue doing our work. In an effort to help those who sleep on our city’s sidewalks, please consider a donation.

Our Founder – Jantjie Booysen

With more than 30 years of experience, founder Jantjie Booysen is a trusted leader of the community, with a singular understanding of the needs of marginalised, at-risk individuals in the greater Cape Town area, including Delft and the Northern Suburbs and the opportunity to do something about it.

The Ubuntu Circle of Courage’s main objective is to reduce the number of hungry and disadvantaged people living on the street.

Jantjie Booysen has catered for street people and managed various preventative youth programmes as a youth care worker in the Department of Social Development for several years.

Jantjie retired as an Assistant Professional Officer from the Department of Social Development and later trained at Stellenbosch University in Community Development, Monitoring and Evaluation.

Mr Booysen’s extensive training has allowed him to coordinate and audit the administrative functions at community clinics in the Northern Suburbs, where his tasks included reporting on all medical and health incidents, including Covid-19. We have qualified social workers who assist us in this. His career change as a youth care worker has granted him the responsibility of relocating the homeless.

Jantjie is now responsible for managing the “Street People” programmes, coordinating preventative youth programmes and liaising with NGOs in the community. He is one of the founding members of Homeless World Cup Street Soccer South Africa.
